The conductor Roman Twardy got his first musical experience at the Kiedricher Chorbuben (one of the oldest German boys choirs). At that time he already passed his exam for being cantor and
choirmaster in the diocese of Limburg. After passing his A-level he studied musicology, German philology, pedagogy and music at the University of Mainz. He finished his studies with the “state
examination” in music (piano/flute/solo voice) and German. Furthermore he got the diploma in musical composition and the teaching of listening. Today he is teaching music in a school in
Wiesbaden.
Roman Twardy has conducted church choirs, a youth choir, and the school choir of Oranienschule Wiesbaden. Additionally, he participated in numerous projects: as member of the choir in the
“GOJ T-AT-R”, as a conductor of the choir in the musical “MusiKarl”, and as solist in the male quartet “Hoboes”.
In seminars, e.g. with Prof. Martin Schmidt (Karlsruhe, Germany), he improved his knowledge in conducting choirs and orchestras. Regularly he works with different orchestras, e.g. the
GlobArte-Ensemble or the Rheingau Youth Orchestra. In 2001 Roman Twardy became artistic director of the Wiesbadener Knabenchor.
In addition to his various artistic engagements Roman Twardy works as a lecturer. Thus he got a lectureship in music at Gutenberg University in Mainz and does seminars on the topic "Singing with
Children".
With Wiesbaden Boys Choir he was invited to concert tours to Switzerland, France, Italy and Poland. Under his direction the choir developed into an ensemble in great demand, which is documented
in an intensive co-operation with well-known artists and orchestras.
